This Sunday @ TCC: Freed to Forgive, Ephesians 4:25-5:2
Thanks for stopping by the blog this week! Last week Pastor Travis preached through Luke 7:36-50. He taught us that in Christ, God has freed us to forgive those who have hurt us. If you missed this sermon or what to hear it again you can listen to it here.
This week we will continue in our Freed sermon series. Pastor Sean will be preaching from Ephesians 4:25-5:2 about the freedom we have in Christ to forgive others. Take some time to read this text to prepare your heart to hear the word preached. Also, read Pastor Sean’s thoughts below:
You’ve heard it said, “Breaking up is hard to do”? Well forgiveness is even harder, especially when the hurt is deep. However it is the lack of forgiveness in our heart that is destroying peace in our own lives, dismantling marriage and other relationships, defaming God’s name in the church, and distracting us from the getting the gospel of grace and love to one another and a lost world. So many of us are bound to hurt and bitterness and we need to be reminded that in Christ we are freed to forgive. This Sunday, as we continue our “Freed” series, we will take a second week on this crucial topic of Forgiveness from Ephesians 4:25-5:2. I encourage you to take time to prepare your heart for what God wants to do in your life, that is remind you of His love for you and free you from bitterness and hurt into the hard yet joy-giving work of forgiveness and love.
We will sing and hear testimony this week as well!
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm!
