Majesty, Mission, and Man: Philippians 3:17-21
Thanks for checking out the blog this week! Last week Pastor Paul preached on 1 Peter 3:24. If you missed this sermon, click here to listen or watch this sermon online or check out our vimeo channel!
This week we will continue in our summer series, Majesty, Mission, and Man. Pastor Paul will be preaching from Philippians 3:7-21. Please read the text to prepare your heart to hear the Word preached. We will also take the Lord’s Supper together this week. Here is a summary from Pastor Paul about our sermon this week:
Did you wake up with a stiff back today? Maybe Poison Ivy, a sore throat, one more zit (and this one’s on the end of your nose)! We all have bodily mishaps, but this was not always the case. God created the first humans with perfect bodies in which to worship Him, and they did! That is, until sin entered the world and everything was fractured, including our bodies. This week we’ll dive into Philippians 3:17-21 and explore a reality that gave the Apostle Paul much hope as he endured suffering in a Roman dungeon. He found joy upon joy as his heart’s aim was upward toward eternal realities, particularly his future perfected and glorified body. This is an often misunderstood reality in the lives of Christians, but one that offers much hope as we live out our faith in these weak and aging bodies. Please join us this Sunday in our study of God’s Word regarding man as glorified, and rejoice with us in the Christ who purchased this eternal reality for us as one of the final pieces of our Redemption!
We also have the opportunity to magnify the Lord together through song! Here are some of the songs we will sing this week:
