Delightful Disciplines: Fasting
Last week Pastor Sean taught on the delight of prayer. Our text last week was Luke 5:12-26. For a recap of this sermon please see Pastor Sean’s blog post here. If you missed this sermon, you can watch or listen to it online here.
This week we will focus on fasting in our Delightful Disciplines series. Pastor Travis will preach through Matthew 6:16-18. Here is a summary of where are going from Pastor Travis
“As we pedal forward on our tour through some of the spiritual exercises with which we may discipline our bodies and keep them under control (1 Cor 9:27) we come to the trail head of one of the most dreaded of all spiritual jaunts: fasting. Does God desire for us to
fast? What does fasting accomplish, besides an achy belly and some time saved when I
normally would be eating? Are there spiritual dangers when we fast? We hope to address
these questions and others as we journey into the dense, seldom explored forest of fasting
this Sunday.” -Pastor Travis
